The Meadowsweet Apartment
Photos and Floorplan
This four bedroom holiday apartment based in Llanwrst is in the heart of the Conwy Valley. Only five minutes from Betws Y Coed, it is perfectly positioned to explore everything that Snowdonia has to offer. As self-catering guests you have your own private entrance, the apartment is, however, part of a family run hotel. As a result, the cottage offers all of the benefits of self-catering with the added benefit of enjoying the services of a hotel on its doorstep.
Set over 3 floors, the first floor is home to the sitting room and kitchen. The sitting room is elegantly decorated with a traditional feel - with two big sofa’s, TV and big bay windows. It has a great feel to it and definitely a great place to get your r&r in. A nice spacious room with high ceilings, there is also a dining table and chairs in here which is great if you want to make more a feature of your evening meal.
The kitchen is modern and has everything you need to cater for your group - including a huge American style fridge. There is a second set of dining table and chairs here too which will be great for breakfast time and more relaxed eating environment.
On the first floor, there are two double bedrooms and a family bathroom. The decor of these rooms is fab, the master bedroom has a very boutique style with the colours and the feature wallpaper giving the walls a wooden panel effect - it works really well. Both rooms have nice views looking down over the Conwy river. The family bathroom located on this floor has a free-standing bath, shower, WC and washbasin.
Onto the second floor where there is a double and adjoining twin bedroom. The twin room is more suited to children as it leads onto the double room at the far end. There are apex ceilings in both rooms and so height restrictions are a consideration when allocating the rooms amongst your group.
The cottage is set in middle of the historic town of Llanwrst and only 4 miles from Betws Y Coed. The town of Llanwrst has pubs, bars, shops, restaurants and grocery shops. As we mentioned before, there is also a restaurant attached to the hotel which you might want to take advantage of on one of your evenings. Despite being in the centre of town, there are beautiful views of the river and the rolling hills beyond - that is the great thing about Snowdonia towns, they are never far from the most beautiful scenery.
In terms of what is near by, you are spoilt for choice. Betws Y Coed is home to The Swallow Falls, Fairy Glen, Gwydir Forest and the Zip World Forest Coaster where you will also find a whole host of other activities they have to offer - it’s a great place to go, especially if you ave kids in the group and even better if they are a mix of ages.
Surf Snowdonia is only a 15 minutes drive and where this year they will be unveiling the new Adventure Parc so along with the world renowned surfing lagoon, you will also have a lot of other activities on offer along with a great food offering and during the summer months, a drive-in cinema.
Conwy, is only 15 minutes drive away and with its Castle and market town is a must to go and see, as is a trip to Llandudno where you’ll find the Great Orme, the prom and pier - it’s a Victorian style seaside town with everything you would expect to enjoy a day in a town by the sea.
There are so many opportunities for walking, cycling, watersports, climbing etc and you might be hard pushed to fit it all in. The location of this cottage certainly gives you lots of options right on your doorstep.
